🇪🇸 A pocos kilómetros de Ámsterdam se encuentran Marken y Volendam, dos pequeños pueblos que conservan mucho del encanto tradicional de Holanda.
En Marken, antiguo pueblo-isla, me encantaron las casitas, los canales y el pequeño puerto, rodeado de restaurantes y negocios de artesanías.
Uno de los lugares más curiosos es la fábrica de zuecos, donde se puede ver cómo se fabrican los tradicionales zapatos de madera holandeses.
También hay tiendas con souvenirs, cerámicas azules y blancas, pulseras y otros objetos típicos.
Volendam, a unos 20 km de Ámsterdam, tiene un bonito paseo junto al puerto, con restaurantes, cafés y tiendas.
Es un lugar ideal para caminar sin apuro, mirar los barcos y disfrutar del ambiente de este antiguo pueblo de pescadores.
Se puede llegar fácilmente en auto desde Ámsterdam y también en transporte público.
Son dos escapadas sencillas para conocer una Holanda diferente, más tranquila y tradicional.

🇬🇧 Just a short distance from Amsterdam, you’ll find Marken and Volendam, two small villages that still preserve much of the traditional charm of the Netherlands.
In Marken, a former island village, I loved the little houses, canals and small harbor, surrounded by restaurants and craft shops.
One of the most curious places is the clog factory, where you can see how traditional Dutch wooden shoes are made.
There are also shops selling souvenirs, blue-and-white ceramics, bracelets and other typical Dutch items.
Volendam, about 20 km from Amsterdam, has a lovely waterfront promenade along the harbor, with restaurants, cafés and shops.
It’s a great place to walk around, look at the boats and enjoy the atmosphere of this former fishing village.
Both villages are easy to reach by car from Amsterdam, as well as by public transport.
They are two easy day trips for discovering a quieter and more traditional side of the Netherlands.

In Marken, einem ehemaligen Inseldorf, haben mir die kleinen Häuser, die Kanäle und der kleine Hafen mit seinen Restaurants und Kunsthandwerksgeschäften besonders gut gefallen.
Besonders interessant ist die Holzschuhfabrik, wo man sehen kann, wie die traditionellen niederländischen Holzschuhe hergestellt werden.
In den Geschäften findet man außerdem Souvenirs, blau-weiße Keramik, Armbänder und andere typische niederländische Produkte.
Volendam, etwa 20 km von Amsterdam entfernt, hat eine schöne Uferpromenade am Hafen mit Restaurants, Cafés und Geschäften.
Hier kann man wunderbar spazieren gehen, die Boote beobachten und die Atmosphäre dieses ehemaligen Fischerdorfes genießen.
Beide Orte sind von Amsterdam aus bequem mit dem Auto und auch mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen.
