My trip to Hawaii truly amazed me from the very beginning. This archipelago is made up of several islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hawaii (the Big Island), Molokai and Lanai, along with smaller uninhabited islands and others with private areas. I stayed on Oahu, the most lively island, home to Honolulu and the famous Waikiki Beach, where city life meets the ocean. On the beach, a monument honors Duke Kahanamoku, a legendary surfer, reminding visitors that surfing was born in Hawaii and can be practiced all year round thanks to the climate and waves.
Hawaii is well connected to the mainland, with direct flights from cities like Los Angeles taking around five to six hours and operated by many airlines. The island is easy to explore by car, moving quickly between beaches and mountains. Honolulu stands out for its tall buildings, restaurants and a wide variety of shops, from luxury brands to more affordable options. Kalakaua Avenue is the main street, lined with iconic hotels, while Ala Moana Boulevard runs along the coast. The Ala Moana Center, one of the largest open-air shopping malls, is a must-see. In the historic center, the Iolani Palace recalls the time when Hawaii was a kingdom. Driving around the island reveals stunning landscapes, the Dole Plantation, resort areas like Disney’s Aulani Resort, and a curious sight: chickens freely walking around the streets, a legacy of old farms. Typical souvenirs include flower leis, coconut or pineapple products, and local Hawaiian crafts.

🇬🇧 I’ve visited San Diego several times, and it always has something new that surprises me. I love walking along Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter, where historic buildings blend with cafés and shops, including the Ghirardelli ice-cream and chocolate shop — perfect for a sweet break. The city lives in constant connection with the water: marinas, piers, and a strong naval presence. Near the city is the former naval base MCAS Miramar, where the aviation school that inspired Top Gun was born, a symbol of San Diego’s naval and aviation tradition.
Balboa Park is another of my favorite places, with its gardens and historic buildings. Many of its pavilions were built for the Panama–California Exposition (1915–1916), and others were added during the California Pacific International Exposition (1935–1936), giving the park its elegant and cultural atmosphere.
I also love crossing over to Coronado Island, home to the Hotel del Coronado, a Victorian landmark with its famous red roof, beautiful gardens, restaurants, and direct beach access. Even if you’re not staying there, it’s worth visiting and exploring at a relaxed pace.
The Old Town San Diego State Historic Park reflects the city’s origins with its adobe houses, courtyards, and traditional shops. Next to it is Fiesta de Reyes, a more modern but very charming square filled with Mexican restaurants, music, colors, and artisan stores.
San Diego is also the last major city before reaching Mexico, and that proximity is reflected in its atmosphere and strong Hispanic-Latin influence. The coastline continues toward beaches like Imperial Beach, and a large shopping center marks the final U.S. exit before the border crossing.

🇬🇧 When I arrived in Denver, I loved how the city blends modern areas with historic buildings and a charming, walkable downtown. One of my favorite spots was the Colorado State Capitol, with its shining golden dome—perfect for photos. From there, I walked along the 16th Street Mall, a lively pedestrian avenue full of shops and cafés. Nearby is Larimer Square, a historic little street with Victorian buildings, boutiques and bars that come alive in the summertime.
Denver Union Station also impressed me with its elegant Beaux-Arts architecture and its cozy mix of restaurants, travelers and a boutique hotel. Not far away, I found a lovely shopping area on 39th Street, close to a university, with independent stores and a relaxed atmosphere.
Just outside the city, I visited Golden, a small town with an old-west feel, local breweries and plenty of history. I also enjoyed Boulder, where you can see beautiful homes tucked into the mountains and visit the Buffalo Bill Museum on Lookout Mountain with stunning views. A short drive away is the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, an incredible natural venue for summer concerts.
As for skiing, the mountains near Denver are full of charming alpine towns. Vail is a very select ski village with sophisticated shops and a gondola located right in the center, making it possible to spend the whole day on the slopes and ski right back into the village. Farther away, Aspen stands out for its mining history, grand mountain homes and traditional ski-town atmosphere.
Winters can be cold, but Denver enjoys plenty of sunshine. And with a car, magical mountain landscapes appear just minutes outside the city. For shoppers, the Cherry Creek Shopping Center offers exclusive brands and an elegant environment.

🇬🇧 My visit to the city of San Antonio, Texas, a city that truly surprised me with its history and its strong Latin influence, began with the feeling of walking through a modern urban center rich in culture. In downtown you can visit the Alamo (entry opens around 9 a.m.): this is the famous 1836 battle where Texan volunteers defended the mission against the Mexican army.
Next highlight is the San Antonio River Walk: a riverside stroll where you can ride small boats or catamarans through channels reflecting both historic and modern architecture. Alongside are restaurants and cafés in a Spanish-Texan style, little bridges crossing the water, buildings with indoor gardens, vegetation flanking the canals and even a Biergarten—for example the Munich brewery Hofbräuhaus has a spot right on the canal.
To wrap up, I visited the Tower of the Americas (739 E Cesar E. Chavez Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78205) for a panoramic view of the whole city; it’s very close to the River Walk and you can reach it all on foot from downtown without a car. Right beside is a small shopping area connected to the canals: shops, zip-lines and kids’ playgrounds, plus restaurants and cafés typical of the U.S.
I left convinced that San Antonio manages to blend the modern with the historic, the Latin with the Anglo, in a walkable environment full of flavor and hidden corners waiting to be discovered.
✅ Plan your San Antonio trip with tours on Tiqets or Klook , private transfers on GetTransfer, and mobile internet with YeSIM.
🇪🇸 Mi visita a Savannah, Georgia: encanto histórico, recorridos y rincones inolvidables🌸
El Old Town Trolley Tour🚋

🇬🇧 My Visit to Savannah, Georgia: Historic Charm, Tours and Unforgettable Corners🌸
Savannah is one of my favorite cities in the United States, and every step through its squares, riverfront, parks and old buildings made me fall in love a little more. Here’s what stood out the most from my visit — in case you’re planning to go too:
The Old Town Trolley Tour🚋
I took the Old Town Trolley Tour — that charming trolley that goes through the city’s historic district. The route starts at the Visitor Center at 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, and there’s also another welcome point at 214 West Boundary Street (the Welcome Center), which serves as a trolley stop. The tour lasts about 90 minutes if you do the full loop, with the option to hop on and off depending on what you want to explore. It’s perfect to see the essentials, and you can also walk around much of the city on foot.
Getting There and Where to Stay
You can reach Savannah by car from nearby cities — Atlanta is a major option, and Charleston, South Carolina, is also relatively close if you’re up for a longer drive (but totally worth it). When it comes to accommodation, I noticed lovely boutique hotels inside the historic district, as well as quieter and more affordable options outside.
Squares, Parks and Architecture🌳🌲
Savannah has many small squares filled with trees, benches and peaceful corners — they give the city its unique charm. One of them is Chippewa Square, home to the famous Forrest Gump bench, where the main character sits in the movie.
The largest and most memorable park is Forsyth Park, known for its beautiful fountain. The fountain was installed in 1858 and was manufactured by Janes, Beebe & Company, a foundry in the Bronx, New York. Its design was inspired by works of the French sculptor Michel Lienard.
Inside the park, there are playgrounds, shaded paths, areas for community events, open-air performances, and in summer it becomes a refreshing green haven thanks to the trees and lush vegetation.
Riverfront, Historic Warehouses and Atmosphere
The River Street area along the riverfront is stunning: old buildings once used as cotton warehouses and other storage spaces line the street, built with ballast stone and solid materials that still reflect Savannah’s port past. One example is the William Taylor Stores, one of the oldest warehouses on River Street, originally used for cotton and other goods.
Many of these historic warehouses now host restaurants, souvenir shops, art galleries and even a lovely candy shop/museum I loved exploring — full of treats and character.
Along the river, there’s also a paddlewheel boat like those that once sailed the Mississippi, usually docked there — it’s an iconic photo spot.
Die Old Town Trolley Tour🚋

I started my day by taking the cable car at Powell and Market Street, at that manual turntable where it is rotated on a wooden platform before beginning the ride. I went up to Nob Hill to visit the elegant Fairmont Hotel and the Top of the Mark —on the top floor—, where I enjoyed breathtaking views of the entire city.
Afterwards, I walked down to Chinatown, where I tried traditional dishes —a perfect way to immerse myself in the local flavors.
Later I continued on foot to Pier 39, with its lively atmosphere and waterfront shops. Just a few steps away is Fisherman’s Wharf, with a wide gastronomic offer and many restaurants serving fresh seafood. From this area, ferries also depart to Alcatraz Island, famous for its prison that operated between 1934 and 1963. Today, visitors can take an audio-guided tour, explore the cells, and learn about the history of this iconic site in San Francisco.
In the afternoon I crossed Union Square, a plaza well known from movies, where the historic Palace Hotel is located.
Then I passed through the Financial District, where I stopped to admire the Transamerica Pyramid —the triangular skyscraper that defines the skyline— and the green Columbus Tower, with its cinematic look.
Another well-known sight are the famous Painted Ladies, the Victorian houses facing Alamo Square Park. From there you can also spot the house from the TV series Full House, located at 1709 Broderick Street.
Afterwards I drove down the winding Lombard Street, slowly descending through its curves and colorful flowers.
The next day, I started my journey by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge —inaugurated in 1937— and escaped to Sausalito, a charming town on the other side of the bay, perfect for walking and relaxing.
During the trip I used different means of transport: cable car, Muni buses, the BART metro, and also a car (although parking was not always easy).
Finally, I couldn’t help but remember the earthquakes that left their mark on the city: the devastating one of 1906 and the 1989 Loma Prieta quake —both an inseparable part of San Francisco’s history.

🇬🇧 Getting to Charleston is already part of the charm, especially if you drive from nearby cities like Atlanta, crossing green landscapes until the sea appears. Just outside the city lies Sullivan’s Island, a quiet beach with light sand, surrounded by coastal houses and peaceful neighborhoods where life seems to slow down. After some time by the ocean, it’s best to wander around the historic center. King Street is the liveliest stretch, full of local shops and big-name stores, cafés and restaurants, in a section of about six or seven hundred meters that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll. By the water, Waterfront Park invites you to relax along the Cooper River and take pictures at the famous Pineapple Fountain, a symbol of Southern hospitality. Further south, White Point Garden features cannons and monuments recalling the city’s military past. What stands out most are the historic mansions of Charleston, many dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, built thanks to the wealth generated by rice, cotton and indigo plantations. Several of these houses have been transformed into boutique hotels, with their characteristic side porches where you can rest outdoors in a deck chair. For those seeking more luxury, there are also five-star options such as Charleston Place, right in the city center, combining elegance with shops and fine dining. Charleston is perfect for a weekend getaway: enjoy the beach, stroll through historic streets, sit under the trees in the parks, and end the day resting in a boutique mansion or a luxury hotel.
